#10: China's Famous Inventions

From the Introduction:
Even before the first dynasty, Chinese people were thinking up ways to make new things, or to improve things that already existed. The Chinese are known for the “four great inventions”:
the magnetic compass, gunpowder, papermaking, and printing.
These four inventions are especially famous because they were all first thought up in China, and also because their impact on world history has been so enormous. The Chinese have thought up many other inventions. Some of these inventions were actually key improvements on technology first made somewhere else. Other inventions helped spark inventive minds in other civilizations. When learning about China’s inventions, you will be learning about inventions from all over the world, and how great minds have exchanged ideas to develop technology and science through the modern age. Furthermore, you will be also experiencing the history and culture of China through the ages.
