Tony's Nature Trip Tour is one of our new premium OCDF Chinese Culture Tours, designed especially for families who have already been to China a time or two and as such have already “been there done that” at the traditional sightseeing
locations. Join Tony Zheng, one of OCDF's outstanding tour guides, as he takes your family on an amazing expedition to view some of China's most breathtaking natural wonders.
Itinerary
Day 1
Monday, July 20: Leave your home country and fly to China. Arrange international airfare either on your own or through Marta LaCour at TravNET, email: marta.lacour@travnet.net
Day 2
Tuesday, July 21: Arrive in Guangzhou. Met and transfer to 5-star hotel. Lunch and dinner on your own.
Day 3
Wednesday: Breakfast at the hotel. Morning fly to Guilin, met and transfer to Yangshuo, stay at the Yangshuo Mountain Retreat. Lunch and dinner included.
Day 4
Thursday: Breakfast at the hotel. Visit a local farm village and enjoy biking and hiking in Yangshuo. Lunch and dinner in town on your own. Evening enjoy the minority dancing and singing show “Liusanjie” directed by Zhang Yimou.
Day 5
Friday:Breakfast at the hotel. Daytrip on the Li River ending in Yangshuo Village for shopping. Lunch on the boat included. Dinner on your own in Yangshuo. Return to YMR after dinner.
Day 6
Saturday: Breakfast at the hotel. Fly to Chengdu in the morning. Lunch at the airport. Travel to LeShan Buddha with boat ride to see Buddha. Proceed to Mt. Emei. Arrive for dinner at hotel. Stay at best available hotel. Evening free time.
Day 7
Sunday: Breakfast at the hotel. Morning take the cable car to the top of Mt. Emei and visit the various temples. Lunch at Mt. Emei. Afternoon local sightseeing. Mid-afternoon return to Chengdu. Check-in at the Crown Plaza Hotel. Buffet Dinner at hotel.
Day 8
Monday: Breakfast at the hotel. Morning free time in Chengdu. Try some shopping at the local antique market or department store. Lunch on your own. Afternoon drive to Wolong Nature Panda Reserve, visit the Reserve Check-in at the Wolong Villa Hotel. Dinner included. Evening free time.
Update: Due to the Sichuan Earthquake of 2008, we expect that 2009 tours will visit the Chengdu Panda Research Center instead of going to the Wolong Nature Reserve as listed. If the roads are rebuilt in time for your tour program and the region is safe to travel to, we will include the Wolong Nature Reserve.
Day 9
Tuesday: Breakfast at the hotel. Teen ages 14 and up can opt to have a volunteer-day at Wolong. Adults can opt to do this as well. Children of all ages will have photo opportunity to hold/hug a panda. Spend the day at Wolong Nature Reserve. Lunch included. Depart Wolong at 3:30 in afternoon for drive back to Chengdu. Buffet dinner in Chengdu at the Crowne Plaza hotel. Evening free time to swim.
Day 10
Wednesday: Breakfast at the hotel. Late-morning fly to Jiuzhaigou National Park. Met by local guide and transfer to a 5-star hotel. Lunch included. Afternoon tour Jiuzhaigou. Dinner included. Evening free time to explore, relax, get an optional massage.
Day 11
Thursday: Breakfast at the hotel. Entire day visiting and exploring Jiuzhaigou National Park. Lunch included and dinner on own.
Day 12
Friday: Breakfast at the hotel. Morning visit more of Jiuzhaigou National Park. Lunch included. Afternoon fly to Beijing via Chengdu. Met in Beijing and transfer to the Beijing Oriental Culture Hotel. Dinner on your own. Evening free time to explore the neighborhood.
Day 13
Saturday: Breakfast at the hotel. Morning to visit
Olympic Venues from the 2008 Olympics. Lunch at a local
restaurant. Afternoon on your own – explore Houhai area with
restaurants and shops, Silk Alley or Hong Qiao Markets, visit
the tailor, or visit the National Gallery and Craft Center for
Kids .
Day 14
Sunday: Breakfast at the hotel. Morning drive to Mutianyu Great Wall. Lunch at Hairou on your own. Afternoon take the cable car to the Great Wall and hike on the wall. Dinner at Agrilandia Italian- Chinese Farm to celebrate new friendships made during the trip. Evening relax at Agrilandia then return to hotel.
Day 15
Monday, Aug 3 (2009) or Aug 2 (2010): Breakfast at the hotel. Met by local guide and transfer to the airport for flight to USA. Arrive in USA (or home country).
